Jeffrey M. Bernstein, Esq.

Jeffrey M. Bernstein is the Firm's President and Managing Director; he founded the Firm in 1983. A magna cum laude graduate of Brown University and Boston College School of Law, Order of the Coif, he has broad public policy and private sector experience. Formerly Director of the Massachusetts Legislative Energy Development Caucus and Executive Director of Resources for New England, Inc., Mr. Bernstein's governmental background emphasized financing energy conservation and alternate energy development and environmental issues. 

Mr. Bernstein's practice currently concentrates on concentrates on agricultural/sustainable development, technology, blockchain and digital currency, corporate and commercial law and regulatory matters. He represents entrepreneurial and/or technology clients of the Firm on complex transactions. Recently he has been involved in a broad range of emerging digital currency and other issues related to distributed ledgers.  He also has represented numerous municipal entities and non-profit environmental advocacy groups in Vermont and Massachusetts.

Mr. Bernstein has been admitted in all State Courts in Massachusetts and Vermont as well as the Federal District Court for Massachusetts and the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, First and Sixth Circuits. /AV® Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

Among the awards and commendations Mr. Bernstein has received over the years are a Distinguished Service Award from the Vermont Legal Food Hub and the William O. Douglas Award for Environmental Advocacy, National Sierra Club. He has served (and in some cases continues to serve) as a director and officer of many corporate and nonprofit organizations involved in environmental, energy, technology and agricultural/sustainability missions. He also has served as Special Town Counsel for many communities (and General Counsel for a number of regional or quasi-governmental entities) and as an advisor/special counsel for state agencies in Massachusetts and Vermont.
